Scouts (Ages 11 -15)

Scouts is for young people aged 11 to 15 years of age who like to do anything and everything. You become a member of a Scout patrol in the Scout Troop. Together you make decisions, set goal, and learn the benefits of team work to succeed in whatever you do.

Some of the fun activities you can do include hiking, canoeing, camping and if you have a flair for the arts, you can perform in the Gang Show. Even something as relaxing as toasting marshmallows is in the sights of most scouts.

There is an award scheme that suits your individual level which helps you to achieve your personal best. Some of the areas the award covers are lightweight camping, recognising and dealing with environmental dangers (like bushfires), water safety and bush navigation.

Your leaders are there to guide you physically, socially, and intellectually as you grow into your youth.

As you learn more and get older in the Scout Troop you will be asked to take on more responsibilities with organising activities and camps, testing younger Scouts in their badgework, and even becoming a Patrol Leader and leading a group of younger Scouts through their Scouting adventures.
